Call to Action: Help Keep Food Moving to Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens

TEFAP Photo 3-17-17The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) helps food banks and pantries transport and store fresh, nutritious food. Almost 20 percent of the food distributed by local hunger-relief organizations, like Toni’s Kitchen, is moved and stored because of TEFAP. We need your help urging Congress to keep this food assistance funding in place. Why? Because 1 in 5 of our children go home to cupboards that might be bare. Our children need healthy food to grow and learn. Please reach out to your congressman with a quick note so they know that their constituents want healthy kids, strong seniors and robust communities. We don’t want to see even more families and seniors struggle with food insecurity!
