Peace Islands Institute Donates Meat To Toni’s Kitchen

peace-islands-instituteOn Monday, Sept. 12, Muslims celebrated the festival of Eid al-Adha, which includes donating fresh meat to the poor.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21, Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin of Legislative District 34, a Montclair resident, along with Mel Turk, program coordinator of Peace Islands Institute, made presentations of meat at Toni’s Kitchen and St. Peter’s Haven in Clifton.

The New Jersey headquarters of Peace Islands Institute, a nonprofit advocating “unity, education, welfare, and progress,” and interfaith dialogue, is in Hasbrouck Heights.

Toni’s Kitchen Director of Outreach Anne Mernin and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Pastor John Mennell accepted the donation.

Our thanks to the Peace Islands Institute for their thoughtful and generous donation.
