MONTCLAIR, NJ – Toni’s Kitchen partners closely with local institutions including the Bloomfield Public Library, preschools, and aftercare programs to ensure that children have fresh, healthy food reliably available.  All-Ways Advertising President, Robert Lieberman, took note of this work and recently stepped in to help expand the number of families reached in Bloomfield.

“In a community such as ours, every child can go to bed nourished and secure,” said Lieberman.   “By donating $1000 to expand Toni’s Kitchen’s Healthy Backpack Program, I know that more families will have healthy meals together and go to sleep feeling a bit more secure in their ability to provide for their children.”

The struggle with food insecurity in leafy suburbs can be hidden.  Surprisingly, 4 in 10 adults do not have $400 available for an emergency car repair bill or medical emergency.  Most of the working poor are getting by on a paycheck-to-paycheck basis.  Quality nutrition can be beyond reach.

Toni’s Kitchen is working to address this issue.  Every family receiving a Healthy Backpack has a one-year commitment from Toni’s Kitchen.  By receiving a backpack of healthy food every week for a year, families are able to have a bit of breathing room.  The contents of Healthy Backpacks include oatmeal or breakfast cereal, tuna or peanut butter, rice, beans, pasta, sauce, raisins, shelf stable milk and afterschool snacks.

Toni’s Kitchen is excited to receive this generous donation from All-Ways Advertising and looks forward to further expanding its reach.  For more information on how you can help, visit www.toniskitchen.org or email us at toniskitchen@gmail.com
