Renaissance School Students Raise $701 for Toni’s Kitchen with Benefit Concert

A group of ten 7th grade Renaissance Middle School students and two of their younger siblings organized and performed a benefit concert on August 26th, called “The Imagine Concert” that raised a total of $701 for Toni’s Kitchen!  Maggie Borgen and Lucy Solomon, along with their younger brothers and six other friends, of Montclair organized the concert, a talent showcase to raise funds for a local community group.  It was a group effort, and all of the participants worked together to bring the show to life.  The girls were inspired to organize the showcase by the nurturing environment at Renaissance School, where most of the participants are entering 7th grade this fall.

“It was so fun to organize this showcase with Lucy and our friends because we love to perform and help out,” said Ms. Borgen.  “I’m so happy we raised so much in the process!”  Ms. Solomon said: “This was a really inspirational time for me. I hope I can continue doing things like this to help the community.”  The other participants included Tal Ben Ari, Chris Borgen, Sylvan Borns, Lindsey Fell, Maria Linietsky, Madeline Schanen, Chris Schweighofer, and Rainen Solomon. The money raised will go towards providing healthy food and backpacks for children as part of Toni’s Kitchen backpack program.
