Toni’s Kitchen Helps Seniors

Many of the guests at Toni’s Kitchen are seniors, and they often have special needs that require special care. Our meals are nutritionally balanced to provide needed fresh fruits and vegetables, adequate amounts of protein, and sufficient quantities of whole grains and dairy.  We also provide guests with food to take with them to help stretch…

Toni’s Kitchen received a wonderful donation in mid-August from the Liberty Academy school garden in Bloomfield.  Liberty Academy is a program at Bloomfield High School that is located at Bloomfield College.  Jorge Carvalho, a science teacher at the Academy and Michael Palmieri, an Adjunct Professor at Bloomfield College, donated a big portion of fresh vegetables…

Toni’s Kitchen Marches in July 4th Parade

A little bit of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of our volunteers as Toni’s Kitchen marched in this year’s Montclair town July 4th parade.  With the Toni’s Kitchen van (re-imagined as a parade float!) leading the way, our group of dedicated volunteers marched the 1.6-mile parade route.  Thousands of residents lined the route, and you…

One of the great things about Toni’s Kitchen is how families are able to get involved in preparing and delivering meals for the needy we serve. Lately every Thursday afternoon, Jodi Aishton and her children Georgia and David would come by Toni’s with their wagon. They would load the wagon with backpacks of food and deliver them…

That means some 250 table settings a week (13,000 a year!) are being replaced by utilizing real…
